Cosplay back in Fresno
Stan Lee was no stranger to making appearances at comic conventions.
Now here is someone dressing up as Stan as a tribute to his career.
One of the great appeals to an anime convention is cosplay where fans can express themselves as their favorite characters.
Outside the convention, fans are just everyday citizens, but inside the convention, they can be whomever they want to be from their favorite media.
Like Deadpurple7, also known as Alison Alva, who was the host of the cosplay contest at AnimeCon. Despite being a professional cosplayer, she has never won a contest.
“I’m still here, and I’m having fun, and it encourages everyone else, and I would like people to come out and do this,” Alva said.
Fun like battling on stage with your dad. Gary Titman did not win the cosplay contest at Ani-Me Con but did win the contest at Collectors Con. Whether it be a large or small con, Titman says the feeling is always the same.
“I get really nervous. But I have to remember I’m not Gary Titman I’m Jeterik. Step with confidence and scowl at the crowd,” Titman said.
This was Collectors Con’s second cosplay contest. Judged by Lady Deadpool Fresno, who was happy to see all the different contestants. She says one of the toughest parts of being a judge is having to pick a winner.
That’s when you let them know that there are no losers. You’re a winner just by walking up in front of everyone
Whether professionally or just for fun, cosplay is for anyone who wants to express their passion.
