Did Covid Kill Clubs?
Covid-19 put a halt on a lot of clubs’ plans at Fresno State.
The Bulldog Board Game club started during the pandemic.
Tyler Carlo, Bulldog Board Game Club president, wanted to share his love of board games.
“Clubs are more important now than ever,” Carlo said. “Because it been a rough time in our country and to have a group come together for anything.”
Coming together sounds like a team.
The women’s Rugby Club is tackling back at the pandemic.
“We made a big push,” said Regan Gardner, Woman’s Rugby Club president. “We were out here every day of the week. We were here in the quad, the dorms, the rec center. Everywhere pushing recruitment. We got a record of 180 emails.”
The Print and Glory Club is also designing a way to boost morale.
“I want the club to be more out there getting more people involved in the club exposing printmaking to Fresno. I want to infect people with art,” said Bobby Brown, Print and Glory Club president.
Every club can apply for a lottery to sponsor a booth in the Free Speech area on campus.
Twenty-seven winners will be announced at the end of the semester.
All of these clubs are continuing to progress through the semester despite the pandemic.
