Pedestrian Accidents

Fresno has recently experienced several pedestrian and cyclist deaths, including that of Fresno State Professor Adela Santana-Mullooly.

According to a recent study by Dangerous by Design, Fresno is the tenth deadliest city for pedestrian and cyclist accidents.

In the past week alone, three pedestrians were hit and killed.

While responsibility ultimately falls upon the driver, there are still steps you can take to keep yourself safe.

Although the crosswalk may signal people to walk, it is always important to look before stepping into the street. After all, those making a right turn often have a green light even when the crosswalk is activated.

It is also important to wear reflective clothing at night and to try to walk against the flow of traffic when sidewalks are not available.
