Homecoming Festivities for 2022 Bulldogs
Homecoming week is being celebrated from October 10 to game day on October 15 at Fresno State.
The theme this year is “The Bulldog Legacy.“
The Homecoming Committee has organized multiple events to make this event unique from past years.
With the new Resnick Student Union open for students, there will be a few fun events inside the building.
Along with that, there will also be an outdoor movie within the walls of the Valley Children’s Stadium. Students will be able to sit on the same field that their bulldog football team will play on at the end of the week.
“It’s like a party leading up to the actual game,” said Bianca Palma, who is on the homecoming committee.
On Monday afternoon, the celebration started with the “Ignite the Pride” kickoff.
Students came together in front of the Kennel Bookstore for live music, free Fresno State ice cream, activities and games, and even giveaways to test their luck.
On Tuesday, they are hosting two different events.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the Kennel Bookstore, they are having a craft corner where students can get a chance to decorate a spirit paw or stuff a plush bulldog.
Then from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. they are hosting another artsy event in front of Graves Hall student housing, where students can bring tee shirts or bandanas that they can wear to the game.
All materials are provided free of charge.
On Wednesday they are putting on two events as well.
The first is ‘Bulldog Recharge’ where students, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., can visit the grass field in front of the Kennel Bookstore to listen to mellow music, practice calming activities and participate in another giveaway.
The second event is the outdoor movie inside Valley Children’s Stadium.
Food is not allowed inside, but is available at food trucks once you arrive. Students eat free, so make sure to bring your student ID just in case.
The gates open at 5 p.m. and the movie, Thor: Love and Thunder, begins at 7 p.m.

The Homecoming Committee is located inside the new RSU, so Thursday, October 13 they are inviting students and faculty to come inside and get to know their new Student Union.
This event is called “Kicking it at the Resnick Student Center,” and there will be a scavenger hunt to find different activities within the building.
Free pumpkins will be given out, so make sure to stop by before they are all gone!
The second event on Thursday is going to be right outside of the RSU, at the Leon S. Peters Outdoor Event Plaza. This will be a live band karaoke night, beginning at 7 p.m.
This event will consist of more than just music as there will also be mocktails, caricatures, and animal balloons.
On Friday, October 14, there are three total events.
The Friday of Homecoming is commonly known as “Red Friday” where the marching band and cheer squad come to campus to rally with the students and get them excited for game day.
This year it will take place in the RSU’s Outdoor Event Plaza from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Fresno State Winery will be hosting ‘Friday Night Flights,’ where students, alumni, and faculty 21 years of age or older, can try the Winemaker’s of Tomorrow’s local and student-crafted wines.
Tickets are $10, but can be waived with purchase of a bottle of wine.
The last event of Friday is the silent disco, or rather ‘Disco with the Dogs.”
This event takes place inside the RSU at the Ruiz Ballroom from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The final day of Homecoming is Saturday, October 15. That’s Game Day.
To kick off the celebrating for all the community, the Gibson Market will be having a plant sale that starts at 8 a.m. along with a Fall Festival that goes from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
This Fall Festival will have a pumpkin patch and corn maze, wine tasting beginning at 12:30 p.m., along with a chance to meet some of the students that work on the Fresno State Farm.
This leads into tailgating events that include students, alumni, and bulldog fans. These tailgates always consist of free swag, food, and opportunities to bond with fellow people of the valley.
As for the game, the kickoff is set to start at 7:45 p.m.
For those still needing tickets, you can visit the ticket office, or if you wait until game day, you can buy tickets from the southeast entrance of the stadium.
