Students can now use the study spaces or hangout spots at the Resnick Student Union.
The new addition to the campus was approved by students in 2018 when they voted yes and approved a fee referendum of $149 per semester to support the cost of the building.
The RSU is still a work in progress. While there is the Paws-n-Go cafe on the first floor, two food options will be added in spring 2023.
“We’ll have the Habit Burger and Taco Bell will move over and be full service,” said Amy Allen, Associate Dean of Student involvement.
The grand staircase is a unique addition to the campus linking the first and second floors of the building.
Clubs will be able to put together movie showings for students or when it’s not reserved students can study and take breaks in between classes.
The Leon S. Peters Events Plaza is another part of the RSU where students can gather. It’s outdoors and plays tribute to the history behind the Amphitheater that the RSU is now built upon.
The RSU has many great features that overlook the campus. There’s a terrace for students to study on. The new RSU is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00am to 10:00pm.
On Fridays it closes at 8:00pm.
