Graduate Art Show
This is the last week to visit the first installation of the Graduate Art Show at the Phebe Conley Art Gallery.
The namesake of the gala, Interwoven, is conceptualized across four rooms in various and overlapping mediums by Carolyn Zutler and Leila Rofan.
Through golden navy paintings and mosaiced fabrics, Rofan’s works draw inspiration from her Iranian heritage and elaborate on the cultural intricacies behind carpet weaving.
Zutler’s pieces weave together the past present and future, offering an esoteric view that is neither placed in space nor time.
“The portraits stand apart and depict others who experience flashbacks, gaps, or other alterations of time,” Zutler said.
In addition to paintings, also on display are interactive wall sculptures, that ask the viewer to play with reality.
The exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through this Friday. Admission is free.
