Kicking Off February With a Fresno State Blood Drive
Fresno State is kicking off February with a blood drive. The Central California Blood Center trucks on campus are not limited to student donors though, anyone can participate.
Just like Jose Guerrero, who says he has donated ever since he was old enough to start giving his blood.
“Someone is always in need,” Guerrero said. “I have had a surgery or two here and there. I have never needed it, but you know if I did need it, at least I know I’m helping put some back out there.”
The entire process takes about 15 minutes starting with filling out a health questionnaire, receiving a temperature check and getting your iron levels drawn.
Then, off to the bloodmobile the donor will go. Once inside, the donors will have a seat while the blood pumping process begins which takes around eight to 10 minutes. When finished, you will get bandaged up and sent off with water, Gatorade and snacks.
Fresno State will have another donation day tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the same three locations at the Memorial Garden, near the residence dining hall and in lot P24 on Barstow Ave.
