Fresno State Divers Prepare for Final Meet of the Season

The Fresno State diving team is sending senior Silvia Alessio and freshman Grace Ally to the NCAA Zone E Championship Meet hosted by the University of Utah in Federal Way, Washington. The action begins Wednesday, March 6 and runs through Friday, March 8.

Both divers will compete on the platform, while Alessio also has the 1-meter and 3-meter event.

Alessio and Ally are coming off a successful Mountain West conference outing, where Alessio became an All Mountain West on the 3-meter and platform event, by finishing in the top 8 for both events. Ally’s highest place was 14th on platform.

The athletes have been preparing for the meet on land while the weather has proved too cold for them to practice in.

“I think zones will be fun,” Alessio said. “It’s the last meet. I’m a senior now. So this is the last week as a Bulldog. So I’m excited to see how it ends.”
