Fresno State esports going strong
Fresno State is home to many clubs, activities, and sports; however, not many know we have an esports team on campus.
The team practices throughout the week in order to prepare for matches against other colleges and universities. Recently, they won a tournament hosted in Florida and three NECC championships.
It’s a great way for Fresno State students who are video game lovers to be involved in something school related and express their skill and talent with it.
“It’s a good avenue for people to play in case you’re not very active at sports or anything of that matter or if the kids that are good at video games can do something extra curricular,” said esports Bulldogs head coach, Ryan Serrano.
League of legends, rocket league, valerant and overwatch are all games that the team practices throughout the week at the collegiate level.
“We have tryouts which is usually at the beginning of the semester and you try out and it’s usually in-house so you play against other people that are trying out or are already on the team,” said Kobe Valle, a player on the Bulldogs esports team.
