Ex Fresno State football player finds a new purpose in life
Leaving a sport that you once thought was your everything isn’t easy, especially when you’ve done it your whole life.
But nothing has ever come easy to Cameron Lamanuzzi.
Born and raised in Fresno, he’s seen it all and is very well-connected with his community.
A Fresno State Football fan since he was a kid, all he ever wanted was to play for the Bulldogs at what is now known as Valley Children’s Stadium.
“Every school that was looking at me basically just ghosted me, except I knew I had the walk-on spot potentially to Fresno State,” said Lamanuzzi. “They say something happens for a reason.”
Toward the end of his stint with the team, he started to become more attracted to giving back to others in the community through Christ.
“He just does a great job just connecting with the players, connecting with people,” said Fresno State football team Chaplin Anthony Favela.
A hard goodbye to football but a newfound way. Lamanuzzi continues to be involved with the team but devotes most of his time to his church and simply giving back to the community.
