Cesar Silva chasing childhood dreams and giving back
Cesar Silva started kicking a soccer ball way before touching a football. At three, he was already putting his legs to work.

“It’s like my first love and I just decided to try and pursue it,” said Silva.
His childhood dream was put on hold as he found a newly shaped ball.
It all changed when he got to the College of San Mateo where he left behind his longtime sport to pursue a new one.
He did two years at CSM and when he least expected it, he got a phone call from Coach Jeff Tedford.
Silva played for the Bulldogs for three seasons where he was a full-time starter in his super-senior year.

“I was very happy with my last two years and the way I did in my pro day, and I know I gave it all I had, and I learned a lot through it,” said Silva.
Silva’s football career may be over in a sense, but he stays connected to the sport by coaching. He’s found a passion in helping kids who aspire to one day be in the position he once was.

Futbol is where his mind is now. He plays for Cal Odyssey, a semi-pro team in Fresno.
