Award-winning community breakfast spot serving up more than delicious meals

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. For Jus’ Jo’s, it’s not just about nutrition. It’s also about an opportunity to give back to the community that keeps the business thriving.

Voted by community members for the best breakfast award in 2022, Jus’ Jo’s is not only known for its popular menu and cinnamon rolls. It’s the warmth and hospitality that radiates from every interaction that wins the hearts of customers.

It’s also challenges the restaurant faced during the pandemic that forced them to think about business going forward.

“We have an amazing team. We, myself and my staff, we have a very good relationship, and when the pandemic hit nobody knew what to do,” said Angela Paul, executive chef and owner of Jus’ Jo’s.

“We got a phone call saying, on Saint Patricks Day at 3 o’clock, all indoor dining is shut down. This is the thing about business, it doesn’t matter what happens, you have to be able to find another way.”

With a little creativity and grit, Paul and her team were able to get through the pandemic with the love and support of the community.

“The first thing I did was went down to the party plus store and I got some Halloween costumes of Mario and Luigi, from Mario Brothers, and we dressed up in those outfits, and I took the staff outside with pots and pans, and we ran and up and down Shaw avenue and shagged cars in,” Paul said.

While being known as one of the central valley’s best breakfast diners, Jus’ Jo’s is serving up much more than amazing food to its community.

“With Fresno State, not only do we give discounts when they come it, we give them 10 percent off. We do the military, we do that with senior citizens,” Paul said. “You know if we have a specialty group that comes in sometimes I’ll have specialty homes that bring in disadvantaged children or disadvantaged adults. We make special menus for them. Whatever it is that we can do, we try to accommodate everyone.”

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, Jus’ Jo’s is offering families a special menu offer. For more updates, you can visit their Jus’ Jo’s Facebook page.
