Jaron DelaCruz: The people’s Dustbowl Champion

Jaron DeLa Cruz is a local 22 year old musician who has recently made a name for himself on TikTok as a dark synth wave inspired artist.

His songs, “Shake,” “Mess You Up,” and “You.” Have all gained over a thousand views an listens. He caught the eye of The Collegian’s Managing Editor, Jiselle Cardenas, who mistook him for a student after he was spotted in a Fresno State sweatshirt in one of his viral videos.

The young talent has played at local Fresno venues, like Thrift Demon and Strummers.

But Jaron says his main audience tends to be in southern California. This may be why he’s had the privilege of playing at the famed Roxxy Theatre in West Hollywood.

Whatever the case may be, DeLaCruz has undoubted made quite the splash and he won’t stop until he makes even bigger waves beyond the San Joaquin Valley.
