Many Fresno State resources available to students
Fresno State has over 19,000 students on campus. However, many students are unaware of the resources the university has to offer.
One resource is the Career Development Center located inside the University Student Union. The Career Development Center helps students plan for their future careers.
“The main purpose is all things related to career whether that be interviews, we help with resumes, mock interviews, we provide professional clothes we also have the money management center where they help with financial literacy,” says assistant Malee Her.
The Career Development Center provides a wealth of information for students preparing for the outside world to help them get a head start in their profession.
Another resource is the Amendola Student Cupboard. The student cupboard is the perfect place for students to get grocery items for free. All they need is their student I.D. card or number.
“The Amendola family student cupboard is a resource for students here on campus where they’re able to get any food they need for any food insecurities that they might have; we also provide hygiene products and diapers for students that have children,” says assistant student worker Samuel Coria.
The Student Cupboard can be found in the Industrial Technology building room 144. You can find more information about it on Instagram @studentcupboard.
Another one of the resources the University offers is the Learning Center located inside the library on the basement level floor. The learning center is the perfect place for students to gain help if struggling with any class or course.
“We offer services to help students out with their classes or more about how they feel about being on campus we offer, offer tutoring supplemental instruction,” says student assistant Bladimir Pizano.
The University also has support programs offering help and guidance to veterans, parent scholars, transfer students and commuter students. Resources like these are great tools for students to use while they still can.
You can find the Career Development Center on the third floor of the University Student Union in room 306. For more information on other programs and resources at Fresno State, check the Fresno State website under “resources.”
