Student Mental Health Spotlight
“Covid messed me up,” said Jason Bishop, a student athlete, who is in tune with his mental health. “When I got back to school I had no social aspects. I was always known for talking, but my social way of life just – boom.”
Bishop is one of the many students we interviewed for our Solutions Journalism series on mental health. Our interviewees come from all walks of life and all have different ways of healing. Whether it’s dancing, exercising or reading — all have found different ways to heal.
Sarah Watson, who was in the military, says dancing helps her unwind.
“I unpack this a lot in my dancing. It’s been my healing journey, and they allow me to play with my craft,”
Watson said.
We also interviewed athletes, international students and others. They hope that by sharing their stories they can help others who might be in the same situation.
These stories will be available on our website as they come out.
