What Homecoming 2024 means to everyone
Great memories were made during Homecoming week. Almost everyone at the Valley Children’s Stadium was dressed in all black as part of the homecoming theme.
In addition to the homecoming game, people attended events such as the battle of the V between Bulldogs and Spartans, the Ring of Honor for Ron Cox, Alumni Night, and The Postgame Drone Show.
“It is interesting to see both alumni and current students come together and be able to coexist in one space and celebrate each other,” said Kaitlyn Shapazian, a liberal studies major.
“It’s not so much different from a normal college homecoming,” said Dylan Morgan, KSEE24 and CBS47 sports reporter. “But the atmosphere has been second to none between obviously, the blackout jerseys and the crowd being here early for the game. Obviously, we just got done with the Ron Cox celebration and the ceremony put him into the ring of honor. Everything has been tip-top this weekend.”
The postgame drone show was postponed because of technical difficulties. The drone show will be rescheduled, and they’ll announce the new date on the Fresno State Athletics Instagram page.
That didn’t stop the Bulldogs from taking the V trophy back to Fresno in a dominant fashion.
“We felt the energy. It got our sideline going like the guys that aren’t in the game, they got going. So it was a ton of energy. It was very electric,” said Tim Skipper, Fresno State interim head coach.
Once they got the lead, the Bulldogs didn’t look back and are looking forward to doing more of the same for the remainder of the season.
