Customer Importance in Farmers Markets
River Park Shopping Center is a vibrant hub of retail, dining, and entertainment in the heart of Fresno, offering something for everyone.
The farmers market at River Park every Tuesday afternoon has been a staple of the community for the past 20 years.
Many vendors come from Fresno and surrounding areas including Visalia to promote their business and get a loyal fan base.
Andre Utomo, the owner of Warung Mie has been coming to the River Park Farmers Market for the past year and says his business is unique.
“Because this is like something new like nothing Indonesian food in the Central Valley,” said Utomo.
Lucy Oropeza, the co-founder of Raw Rex Honey, says many vendors including herself love to have the community come out and support them, especially during challenging times.
“The challenge is when there’s no people out here to support which is very important to us,” said Oropeza.
Many people enjoy coming out, whether it’s for a night out, to get delicious food, or to get a gift for yourself or a family member. One of those people is Chris Ramirez, a local music artist and Fresno native.
“I like to come out here just to see, you know, there’s a lot of local goods good to support your local businesses they got some bomb Lao food over there Cambodian food too,” said Ramirez.
