Through the Lens of the Fresno State Football Video Crew
Behind every practice and game of the Fresno State Football team, there’s a dedicated group of individuals who film every play to provide the tools for players and coaches in their pursuit of success.
The video crew team is filled with college students who aspire to work in sports after college. They get the opportunity to travel with the football team, and build their skills preparing them for the job market after college.
“They build some skills here at this job that allows them to go out and work at local TV stations after graduation,” Fresno State Football Video Coordinator Suk Sanghera said.
Before every practice the crew picks up their equipment in the office then makes their way to the field.
“Every practice, I’m given a new script and it’s very important to know who and what I’m filming,” said Video Crew Member Allison Jorge.
After practice, the footage is immediately imported into the system for players and coaches to review. On game days, after every play, the players and coaches are able to review the footage from the sidelines.
“Without film, it’s hard to improve, and it’s hard to see what we can work on as players,” Defensive Linemen Jairus Satele said.
Without the dedication of the video crew, the team wouldn’t have the tools needed to improve as players, make adjustments, and continue to grow throughout the season.
