How students can make use of their Bulldog ID

Fresno, Calif. – Each student who attends Fresno State is required by the university to get a Bulldog ID. This card is crucial for students because it lets them access a variety of services offered on campus.

When students first get accepted at Fresno State, they receive an email from accounting services that gives them information on how they can get their Bulldog ID cards.

“It’s a simple process honestly,” Fresno State student Anthony Aguilar said. “We took our pictures from our own home, we send it in and then they tell us when it’s ready… it was pretty easy, maybe 30 minutes out of my day.”

On the Bulldog ID card website, there is a list of all the places a student can use their card to access different services.

One building where many students use their ID to enter is the Student Recreation Center.

On the Student Recreation Center website, it explains that students who are enrolled and have their ID cards can get in and use gym equipment for free at no additional cost.

“I actually use my ID card almost every day to go to the gym at the Recreation Center,” Fresno State student Antoinette Terrones said. “I really enjoy going there and it makes it a little bit easier. You just hand your ID instead of having to type it in or do something else with it, you just kind of swipe and walk.”

Another benefit of having a Bulldog ID card is being able to make use of bike barns on campus. There are a total of three located on campus, with one next to the Recreation Center, another in the dorm area, and the last being located on the side of the Professional Human Services building. These bike barns require a student to swipe their card to gain access.

The library offers many services as well. If a student has their card on them, they can reserve a small or large study room, a prayer and meditation room, and they can make use of the printers located in the back on the first floor.

“I feel like the main uses are just to allow us into some buildings or places here,” Aguilar said. “If we have our IDs, we can make it more secure and better for the students… to use the stuff here on campus.”
