Student reveal their favorite study spots on campus
FRESNO, Calif. – Finding a place to focus can make or break a productive study session. At Fresno State, students are discovering where they work is just as important as what they’re working on.
“If I’m in an environment that helps me concentrate, then I’m going to concentrate on my work and study more,” liberal studies major Marissa Delgado said.
Studies show changing environments can boost focus, motivation and efficiency, but not everyone prefers to stay inside. Some students say stepping outdoors gives them the mental clarity they need to stay on track.
“I like the courtyard outside McKee Fisk mainly because I get to enjoy the weather outside and it’s a lot less packed in this area,” MCJ Major Salena Cedillo said.
Whether it’s the inside library, a study pod or a shaded bench outdoors, Fresno State students have various options to help them focus and succeed.
“I’ve actually seen that it’s helped my grades a lot in college coming here,” Delgado said.
As finals approach, the Fresno State Library’s regular hours will remain the same. The library is open Monday through Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
