Fresno Christian High School looking for a three-peat
FRESNO, Calif. – Winning three championships in a row is a hard feat — the Kansas City chiefs failed in their third consecutive Super Bowl, the Golden State Warriors couldn’t do it in 2019 and the Georgia Bulldogs didn’t make it past the semi-finals in 2023 after winning two consecutive NCAA football championships.
But the Fresno Christian High School boys tennis team has high hopes on their quest for a third straight CIF Central Section Championship.
Fresno Christian won the 2023 and 2024 section champions. The team fell in the 2022 Section Championship. Senior Jason Pimentel was a freshman on that team.
“It has motivated us every since from sophomore to junior year to not have that feeling again,” Pimentel said. Getting to the finals and losing badly is never fun, so we had that determination since freshman year when we lost and we are keeping that all the way through to never have that feeling again.”

The head coach Robert Foshee said the dedication of the players has translated onto the court this season and his team is a good example of the talent that’s here in the Central Valley.
“They are all home grown kids they are not kids we have gotten from transfers or exchange students some schools have. These are all kids that have been in our program since day one,” Foshee said.

Assistant coach Daniel Jessing said this 2025 team will be memorable.
“This a special group,” Jessing said. “I consider this the best team in school history on the boys side. A lot of that is because they are so self-motivated and they get out they do the work on their own.”
