The Gibson Farm Market Offers a Taste of the Valley
The Rue and Gwen Gibson Farm Market, located on the Fresno State campus, has many things in store that make it popular, such as wines, fresh produce, and even nuts and cheeses.
However, the Gibson Market has one item that keeps customers coming back for more all year-round. That one thing is ice cream.
“I have tried a lot of them, I’m taking home pumpkin and pistachio,” said Kathy Siggers, a longtime customer at the Gibson Market. “And you know, I am always a sucker for old school stuff like chocolate mint, so it’s always a variety.”
Student Assistant Maya Murillo said ice cream is one of the top sellers at the market.
“The ice cream is an absolute staple at Fresno State. We have so many flavors that we make on campus, and we also have some ice cream that you can take home as well,” Murillo said.
The Gibson Market also allows Fresno State students to learn hands-on, as the market is fully run by students.
“All of our employees here are students, and it is all student-run, and all of the products that we do get do come from other students who are involved with our agriculture,” states Murillo.
The Gibson Market is continuing to give its community a taste of the valley, and it is open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
