Fresno State Hockey Club Kicks Off The Fall Season
Fresno State Ice Hockey continues its return to competitive play with new recruits helping lay the foundation for the future of the program. Among those stepping onto the ice this season is defenseman Kiano Arreguin, a graduate athletic training student who transferred from East Texas Baptist University, where he also played for four years.

Arreguin said his goal this season is to bring intensity and build connections with his teammates.
“I bring high energy to the team,” he said. “I’m excited to get to know everyone here. I feel like we’re getting there, starting to work on and develop our chemistry.”
Defenseman Tristan Andrews, a transfer from Miramar Community College, joins the roster as well. Andrews, who is majoring in environmental science, said he sees opportunity in the team’s small lineup.

“We have a short bench,” Andrews said. “I feel like I can make plays when we need to make plays, and I can lock it down pretty well… Once we have [stamina] figured out, we should be good.”
Andrews said the transition to Fresno has been positive, noting both academics and the atmosphere on campus.
“I really like Fresno State — it’s just a good school,” he said.
The hockey club has been building momentum since its re-establishment, supported by structured leadership, new coaching staff and multiple new recruits including Arreguin, Andrews, Pacey Nelson, Quincy Ceccarelli, Coleman Hiatt, Nathan Zunner and Benedikt Kieninger.
With the season underway, Fresno State Hockey looks to strengthen chemistry, earn wins and continue growing its presence on campus and at Gateway Ice Center.
You can watch their games live on the team’s YouTube channel. If you want to show support in person, pick up your tickets online, at Gateway Ice Center, or have your student ID card ready at the door.
