California voters to decide fate of proposition 50
As voters in California head to the election booths, vote centers open up all over Fresno county to assist the public in deciding the special statewide election, proposition 50.

In response to Texas’ congressional redistricting efforts, California lawmakers have proposed their own redistricting plans to counter the Lone Star State’s move to tip next years midterm election in the republican’s favor.

“I’ve heard a lot about it. I’ve heard a lot of people for and against it”, said Logan Eastham, an electrical engineering major at Fresno State.
There has been some confusion about prop 50 and, if passed, what it means to California voters. The voting public is always welcome to contact the Fresno county elections department.

“Voting is always the best way you have to get out there and have your voice heard,” said Fresno County Clerk/Registrar of Voters, James A. Kus. “There’s opportunities to protest or to go meet with your elected representatives but actually voting is your direct participation in the Democratic and Republican process.”
