Voters Make Final Push as Election Night Closes in Fresno County
With polls minutes away from closing, Fresno County election workers counted ballots late into the evening as a steady stream of last-minute voters arrived at the downtown elections office.

Fresno County Elections Clerk James Kus said the Central Valley remains politically divided during statewide contests.
“Half the county could easily be described as rural, but then we also have the major metropolitan area, Fresno and Clovis. So it’s a very, very mixed situation in Fresno,” Kus said.
The atmosphere downtown stayed calm in the final stretch of Election Night. Voters were seen walking into the office to deliver ballots, while others chose the drive-through drop-off option before the deadline.

Even with hectic schedules, many residents made a point to participate. Fresno voter Jocelyn Espinoza said she wanted her voice heard in a moment she considers critical.
“It’s very important to speak up and have a voice for those who don’t have one,” Espinoza said. “Coming from a Mexican household, first-generation, I made sure to make myself present and pave the path for those who aren’t able to.”
Ballot processing continued into the night as Fresno County awaited results.
