Holiday Season is a Stressful Time for Many
The holiday season can be a stressful time for many, but the holidays aren’t always what they seem.
When the holidays roll around, finding the perfect gift can be really hard since many factors go into it.
For retail workers, it feels the same way, as they are the ones who are there when the decision is final.
“So they’ll be like holding up the item being like, ‘do you think this is good?'” said Vivian Esparza, a Ross Stores retail worker. “Like, ‘should I get something else?’ and they will have a little conversation amongst themselves before they can hand me the item, and I am just there behind the counter like, ‘I am sure they’ll love it.'”
According to a USA Today study, about 60 percent of people who are buying gifts feel like the culture around it is “out of hand,” while over 40 percent of people feel gift fatigue when trying to find the perfect gift.
So gift giving can be difficult for many and can seem really stressful, but there is always a solution to every problem when it comes to finding the perfect gift.
Jess Shelbourne, a customer at Fashion Fair Mall, said has a tip to remember when buying a gift for anyone around you.
“You want to give gifts to people that are really going to make them happy,” said Shelbourne. “You’re not just getting them something that’s going to make them like, oh they just saw something and they’re just trying to make sure that I’m getting a present because they feel like they have to.
Gift giving can be a very important part of the holidays, and it can be a stressful time, but it is important to remember that sometimes the best gifts are the ones that come from the heart.
