War Scream set to perform at Vintage Days

FRESNO, Calif – Local band War Scream, is taking the stage at Vintage Days at Fresno State for the first time this weekend bringing their high-energy sound to one of the campus’s largest annual spring events.

“I really recommend everyone to come out,” said Bryan Woolrich, lead guitarist. “We will be playing some new music, new covers and it’s just going to be a really good time.”

War Scream’s performance will be part of the live music lineup in the Vintage Days set. The band is performing new music and set list in front of the Student Union.

Local bands like Inspite, JNX and Permutations will also be making their debut at the three-day festival. Known for its intense stage presence and blend of alternative rock and post-hardcore influences, War Scream is expected to draw a lively crowd of students and community members.

Thanks in part to bands like Permutations and JNX, War Scream was determined to make the Vintage Days stage their own after seeing those other bands perform in 2024.

“Me and Issac have been Fresno State students for about 2 years now and our first Vintage Days was in 2024,” said Woolrich. “We saw our friends JNX and Permutations perform and we were just blown away by the love they received from Fresno State.”

For the band, performing at Vintage Days will mark their first opportunity to connect with a hometown audience at the heart of Fresno Sate – a setting that celebrates both music and community.

“We will be taking the stage on Sunday at 3pm,” said Issac Serrano, drummer. “We’re very friendly and we love seeing everybody come out and seeing the smiles on their faces.”

War Scream, which formed in the Central Valley, has been steadily building a following through their local shows. The rock band combines heavy instrumentals and melodic elements, which in turn, creates a dynamic live experience that resonates with fans of modern rock.

Vocalist Aaron Hernandez said that if you like certain music genres like rock, you should definitely come check out Vintage Days

“You know if you like rock bands and singers like Ozzy Osbourne come out,” said Hernandez. “Vintage Days has such a fun atmosphere, and we’re excited to see you all out there come Sunday.”

Now in its 52nd year, Vintage Day draws hundreds of attendees to campus each spring with its unique mix of food vendors, booths and live entertainment. For War Scream, this is a critical chance and opportunity to get their name out and advertise their band.

As the band prepares to take the stage, they say they are focused on delivering a performance that reflects both their growth and their connection to the Valley.

“We just want people to feel something when they watch us,” said Woolrich. “Whether it’s excitement or just having a good time, that’s what it’s all about you know.”

War Scream is scheduled to perform during Vintage Days on Sunday at 3 p.m. in front of the Resnick Student Union. Festival organizers encourage attendees to check the official schedule for set times.
