Fresno State student pursues dual passions
Emily Juarez is a student building a career as a singer and, in the future, a psychologist; she makes music in English and Spanish.
“It can get hard with schoolwork. Sometimes I’m up at two am trying to finish an assignment, sometimes I’m up trying to finish a song so it’s a mix of that,” Juarez said.
Juarez’s musical aspirations began when she was a small child, once she reached high school, she started taking a potential career seriously by posting her music on social media.

Although, her focus is split throughout the day she never forgets her mother who always made way for her dreams.
“She also wants to make her songs, she wants to organize the videos, she wants to post. The music has always driven her, and it has made me very proud,” Veronica Juarez said.
Juarez’s passion for music is the strongest chord in her life, but she remains steady in her education.
Along with all the work and music, Emily found important professional connections with her producer.
Even though Emily’s song at Fresno State will end when she graduates, her fans, teachers, and her mom will never forget the melody she created for them.
