Fitness Court Gets New Renovations

The Student Health and Counseling Center has big plans to utilize the recently renovated Fitness Court on campus, including a potential KAC class and Intramural program for Fresno State students.

The court came to campus in October of 2019 in partnership with the National Fitness Campaign, bringing a body-weight focused training course to the heart of campus.
Sat between the North and South Gymnasiums, the court offers a workout facility extraordinarily closer than the 20-minute walk to the Student Recreation Center.
The new upgrades included a new wrap along the main structure and new floor tiles, but the main eye catcher is the large shaded structure that dramatically cooled the equipment on the court.
Before the shaded structure, the sun took its toll over the court. After the COVID-19 pandemic shut down campus in early 2020, the court saw very little use. Even after students returned, the court sat dormant.

Efforts to show off the new renovations have already started. Intramural sports has already hosted a Fitness Court Challenge early in the semester to provide hands-on instruction on how to use the court and complete the circut training session.
While there currently is not any system in place to track the specific attendance and use of the court, the Student Health Center plans to impliment a system to keep track of use and incentivize students to use the court more often.
The court is free for all students and members of the community. A QR code can be found on the walls of the Fitness Court which leads to instructions on how to get started with the circuit-training course.
