Lizbeth Andres-Aguilar, Reporter
Lizbeth is a senior majoring in Mass Communication and Journalism with an emphasis in broadcast and multiplatform journalism. Set to graduate in Spring 2025, their skills in crew production and storytelling have grown over the years. They’ve interned at Community Media Access Collaborative (CMAC) and currently volunteers for Fresno States Esports as a stream technician. During their free time, Lizbeth enjoys playing videos games with friends, reading, watching movies and listening to people talk.
Spencer Beair, Reporter
Spencer is a senior at Fresno State majoring in Mass Communication and Journalism with an emphasis in Broadcast and Multiplatform Journalism. He plans on graduating in May 2025, and will look to work in live production after graduation. Spencer is the Director of Broadcast for Fresno State Esports, and also calls play-by-play commentary for the Valorant matches. Before coming to Fresno State, he served as an editor, and then Editor-In-Chief for The Campus Journal, the student newspaper for the College of the Sequoias. When he isn’t on camera or working on the quality of the esports livestream, Spencer loves to eat good food and spend time with his family.


Alexis Bruno, Reporter
Alexis Bruno is a senior broadcast journalism student at Fresno State and plans on graduating in May 2025. She is currently the Managing Editor for The Collegian. She began in 2023 as a Reporter and then as the Sports Editor in Spring 2024. Alexis has covered several sports and plans to pursue a career as a sideline sports reporter after college, but she is always looking to try new things in the industry.
Vincent Camarillo, Reporter
Vincent is a senior born and raised in Fresno, and is finishing his broadcast journalism degree this semester. Vincent has experience in the technical side of broadcast news from time spent working in production operations at local news stations, but is now focusing on honing his skills as a reporter. He is currently the newsroom intern at ABC30, where he is learning the skills and work ethic needed to be successful from the industry’s best. His passion for reporting comes from his desire to be a figure that the public trusts to deliver real stories, good or bad. Vincent loves sports, and when he’s not busy with school he likes to stay active with his friends. His favorite activities are playing soccer and basketball and going to the gym.


Abraham Cruz, Reporter
Abraham is a senior pursuing a degree in Broadcast Journalism with a passion for storytelling in all its forms. With a deep appreciation for the written and spoken word, he has honed his skills in reporting, writing, and multimedia storytelling throughout his academic career. With a lifelong love for music, Abraham aspires to become a music journalist, blending his storytelling abilities with his passion for the industry. As he prepares for a career in media, Abraham remains committed to upholding journalistic integrity while adapting to the ever-evolving landscape of digital and broadcast journalism.
Makenna Deeth, Reporter
Makenna is a senior Mass Communication and Journalism major with an emphasis on broadcast journalism and will be graduating in the spring of 2025. Before attending Fresno State, she attended Gavilan College in Gilroy, California, and received an associate’s degree in communications in May 2023. She was also an all-conference volleyball player for Gavilan College and was a member of the Active Minds student-athlete mental health club on campus. Makenna grew up just outside of the Bay Area in Hollister and has a strong love for all sports but favors her local teams and gives credit to her dad for making her a sports fanatic. She is a volleyball player for the Fresno State Women’s Club Volleyball team on campus. She loves working out, traveling, being around friends and family, and watching sports. Her dream job is to be a sideline reporter for ESPN and report for the NBA or NFL.


Rolan Fullwood, Reporter
Bianca Gonzales, Reporter
Bianca is a senior Mass Communication and Journalism major graduating in May 2025. Before transferring to Fresno State, she went to Fresno City College where she wrote for the Rampage school newspaper and won a Journalism Administration of Community Colleges (JACC) award. She aspires to become a sports broadcaster for Major League Baseball or Formula 1. Bianca would keep score for her brother’s little league team when she was young. Ever since then she’s loved the game and knew she wanted it to be part of her life forever. Her love for motorsports developed over the last few years when she was fascinated by how much control and athleticism the drivers have while going over 200 km/h. Bianca is excited and ready to be a part of Fresno State Focus.


Joseph Joyce, Reporter
Joseph is a senior student in Media Communications and Journalism who is currently working towards a Bachelor’s in Mass Communication and Journalism. He earned two Associate degrees from Palomar College with one having an emphasis in Social Science and the other having an emphasis in Behavioral and Social Science. Being a natural writer from a young age, Joseph found a passion for telling stories that bring attention to underrepresented groups and topics. He also enjoys writing reviews for games and movies. Joseph enjoys working on a team and teaching others how something works. At Great Oak High School, Joseph won the teacher’s choice award for Passion. When Joseph is not working he spends time with friends and family at home and out traveling. The one thing he never stops doing is writing.
Ricardo Lozada, Reporter
Ricardo is a senior at Fresno State, double majoring in Broadcast Journalism and Sports Administration, with a minor in Chicano Studies and a certificate in Special Event Planning. Ricardo is passionate about storytelling and believes in the power of media to connect and inspire. He is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese and received the College of Arts and Humanities Honors Medal for his academic achievements. Dedicated to community service, he has worked with an after-school reading program, volunteers with Saturday Sports to mentor Fresno’s youth, and during winter and summer breaks, he serves as a counselor for a youth tennis and pickleball camp in partnership with the Fresno State Women’s Tennis team and Pickleball Club. As an Outreach Fellow for the U.S. Green Building Council Central Valley, he manages newsletters, articles, and press releases, striving to amplify voices and share impactful stories. When he isn’t out in the community storytelling or doing community service, Ricardo spends his free time watching international sports, news, and spends time with friends going to Fresno State sporting events.


Victoria Picazo, Reporter
Victoria is a senior Mass Communication and Journalism major with an emphasis in broadcast journalism. Before transferring to Fresno State, she attended Cal State Fullerton for her first two years of college where she received the opportunity to intern with the NFL and Cal State Fullerton Athletics. After transferring to Fresno State her junior year, she has worked at Fresno State Athletics with their football, broadcast, and creative teams. After graduating, she will work towards a position with the Dallas Cowboys as their social media manager. When not in school or at work, Victoria enjoys working out, spending time with family and friends, and taking spontaneous road trips.
Raul Ramirez, Reporter
Raul is a broadcast journalism major currently in his fifth year at Fresno State. He has always enjoyed telling stories that reach as wide an audience as possible. A long time ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association in the Central Valley, he has always been an active member of his community. He has done guest public announcing for the former Bakersfield Blaze baseball team and currently does commentary for Fresno Indoor Soccer’s Gold Division on Dominguero TV. A huge fan of rodeo, skateboarding, pro-wrestling and soccer, there was never a time growing up where Raul wasn’t completely enamored with an unconventional sport. His goal is to be a full time commentator for the WWE, NJPW, or a Bundesliga club in Germany.


Valentina Saldaña, Reporter
Valentina is a senior broadcast journalism student with a philosophy minor and is earning a sports marketing certificate. She is the Editor-in-Chief at The Collegian and the president of the Public Relations Student Society of America club. During her sophomore year Valentina spearheaded the establishment of The Collegian Cooldown Sports podcast, earning third place in the statewide CNPA competition. Additionally she has received multiple journalism scholarships such as the Stanley Stemmer Beaubaire Memorial Scholarship and ABC30 Journalism Scholarship. After graduation, she plans on pursuing a career in sports journalism as a broadcast sports reporter. In her free time Valentina likes to travel, go to the gym and spend time with friends and family.
Jarrett Smith, Reporter
Jarrett is a senior majoring in Mass Communication and Journalism with an emphasis in Broadcast and Multiplatform Journalism and has a broadcast meteorology certificate. While at Fresno State, he has filmed and reported on sporting events and is a member of the Fresno State bowling team. Since he was a kid, he enjoyed starting his day watching the local news, especially the weather. He has an interest in traveling and
visiting the lesser-known and unique places in California. Whether that means road trips
or backpacking in the wilderness, he is always up for an adventure. After graduating, he hopes to blend his passions along with being on camera. He would like to become a meteorologist, host a California-based travel show or become a public information officer for the Forest Service.


Bryan Welch, Reporter
Bryan is a senior at Fresno State majoring in Mass Communication and Journalism with an emphasis in Broadcast and Multiplatform Journalism. He plans to graduate in May of this year and is studying to become a sports broadcaster. Bryan does the play-by-play for many sports at Coalinga High School, Coalinga College, Hoover High School, and Fresno State during the school year. He spent three seasons broadcasting for a summer collegiate baseball team, called the Fresno Athletics. Welch grew up in Coalinga, a small town on the west side of the San Joaquin Valley where he was the valedictorian for the Class of 2021. When not in school or broadcasting, Welch enjoys barbequing with his family and likes hanging out with his friends at Fresno State.
